Floating Beauty: Framing Hand-Painted Tiles
A Celebration of Artisan Craft
Our clients brought us these exquisite hand-painted ceramic tiles for expert framing advice. They wanted to showcase intricate blue floral patterns. These designs are reminiscent of traditional Portuguese and Mediterranean styles. Their goal was to create a cohesive, elegant wall piece. This would honor the craftsmanship and add depth to their home décor.
Craftsmanship in Framing Hand-Painted Tiles
For a museum-quality presentation, each tile was individually floated above the backing board. This creates subtle shadow lines and emphasizes their hand-shaped edges. The floating technique enhances dimensionality and texture. This gives the tiles the appearance of gently hovering within the frame.
The arrangement features a central focal tile surrounded by complementary designs. We carefully measured and aligned them for visual balance and rhythm. It looks much like a gallery mosaic.
Materials & Design
We selected a rustic wood-toned frame with warm undertones to contrast beautifully with the crisp blue-and-white palette. The neutral linen backing adds softness and texture, allowing the pattern and glaze of each tile to take center stage.
The final result blends artisanal tradition with modern presentation. This statement piece captures the charm of handcraft and the precision of custom framing.
