Shadowbox for Plainville Police Department Officer - Honoring 16 Years of Service
A Tribute in Shadowbox Form
At JW Frame Crafters, we take pride in creating displays that preserve stories of dedication and service. This custom shadowbox honors a Plainville Police Department officer who served for an incredible 16 years. Designed with care, it brings together badges, patches, honorific pins, and a service weapon to create a powerful tribute. It is more than a frame—it is a showcase of a career committed to protecting the community.
Service and Dedication
Police service is built on commitment and courage. For this officer, 16 years of service meant countless hours devoted to keeping Plainville safe. From the first day on patrol to the final day in uniform, every detail of this career carried weight. The shadowbox tells that story through the symbols of service: patches, badges, and awards earned over time. Each element carries meaning, representing moments of pride and the bonds of brotherhood in law enforcement.
Matting for Strength and Presence
To support the display, we mounted the items on a Cobalt Blue Suede mat from Artique. The rich blue background not only reflects the tradition of law enforcement but also adds depth and contrast. Against the suede surface, each badge and patch stands out in vivid detail. The softness of the suede mat also conveys dignity, making it a fitting backdrop for this collection of service symbols.
The Larson Juhl Jasper Shadowbox Frame
A career like this deserves a frame that conveys strength. For this project, we selected a 3-inch tall black cap shadowbox frame from Larson Juhl’s Jasper Collection. Its bold profile provides the depth needed for dimensional items, from pins to patches to the service weapon itself. The matte black finish adds gravity and authority, while keeping focus on the contents within. The result is a powerful frame that both protects and elevates the display.
A Service Weapon with Meaning
Every retiring Plainville officer has the opportunity to select a service weapon, engraved with their years of service. For this officer, that firearm became a centerpiece of the shadowbox. Framed alongside badges and patches, the engraved service weapon stands as both a tool of duty and a symbol of personal achievement. Including it in the display ensures that the story of service is remembered with honor.
Honoring a Career, Preserving a Legacy
This shadowbox is not only a gift—it is a legacy piece. It will remain a lasting reminder of sacrifice, pride, and years of dedication to the community. Displayed at home, it serves as a conversation piece and a source of pride for family and friends. It celebrates the career of an officer who chose service and who will always carry the honor of having protected and supported his community.
