Honoring a Hero: Purple Heart & Restored Photograph
A Legacy Preserved
Every piece we frame carries a story - some personal, some profound. This project was both. Our client entrusted us with a damaged photograph of his father, a World War II veteran, along with his Purple Heart medal. The goal: to restore and preserve these deeply meaningful artifacts for future generations.
We carefully digitally restored and enlarged the original photo, bringing back the clarity and expression of a young soldier’s face long faded with time. The portrait now stands proudly beside the medal that symbolizes courage and sacrifice.
Thoughtful Presentation
To complement the historical tone of the piece, we selected a black Larson Juhl frame with a gold beaded lip, echoing the dignity of military honors. The layout features a double mat in soft cream and black, balancing warmth with formality.
The Purple Heart itself was float-mounted within a shadowbox opening, allowing the medal’s depth and ribbon texture to shine while keeping it fully protected. A custom engraved plaque completes the tribute, marking the name and service dates of Sergeant Mike Preston Jr.
A Tribute in Craftsmanship
This finished memorial reflects more than framing - it’s a testament to respect, heritage, and care. Preserving history through craftsmanship ensures that this hero’s legacy continues to inspire, honor, and endure.
