At JW Frame Crafters, every framing project tells a story. For this customer, the story carried an adventurous twist. A lover of exploration and history, the artist was unshaken by many challenges—except snakes. Yet even that fear was conquered when they created this extraordinary piece. The bold green serpent, set against a stark black background, demanded a presentation as daring as the subject itself.
The Power of Presentation
The artwork itself captures movement and elegance. With its looping, flowing form, the snake seems suspended in motion, striking a balance between menace and beauty. Framing such a powerful image required more than protection—it required a design that elevated its intensity. The pairing of the serpent with a textured gold frame creates contrast and intrigue, making the piece feel like a treasure unearthed from an ancient temple.
The AMCI Regence Golden Frame
We selected a gold frame from AMCI Regence, hand-finished in Italy. Each frame in this collection carries unique character, with surfaces shaped to mimic natural textures. This particular profile features a design reminiscent of cascading sand dunes, catching and reflecting light in waves of brilliance. The gold finish transforms the snake into a centerpiece of drama and luxury, perfectly complementing its bold form.
Protecting with Museum Glass
Preservation was just as important as presentation. The piece was glazed with Tru Vue Museum Glass, offering 99% UV protection to ensure colors remain vivid. Its anti-reflective clarity removes distractions, allowing viewers to focus fully on the serpent’s detail. To further safeguard the work, we used glass spacers. This detail keeps the glass elevated above the surface, preventing contact and preserving both depth and dimension in the presentation.
