JW Frame Crafters Fine Art Printing

Frequently Asked Questions

What paper types do you offer for art prints?

We offer a selection of fine-art papers, including smooth matte, textured rag, luster, and premium baryta rag. Each option is archival-quality to ensure rich color and long-lasting beauty.

Can I order a print already framed?

Yes. All of our artwork can be ordered as a print alone, or framed using our online custom framing system. This allows you to choose the frame, mat, and glazing options that best fit your style.

How does your online custom framing system work?

Simply select your art print, then customize it by choosing frame style, matting, and glazing. Our system will show you a preview of your finished piece before you place your order.

Do you use archival-quality papers and inks?

Yes. Every print is made with archival inks and museum-quality papers, ensuring your artwork will last for decades with proper care.

Who completes the printing and framing of my order?

Every step of the process—printing, mounting, framing, packaging, and even shipping—is handled personally by the owner. No one else touches your project, ensuring consistent quality and care from start to finish.

How long will my order take to complete?

Orders are typically completed in 10 business days. Each piece is built by hand, and this timeline allows us to give your order the care and attention it deserves.

Why does it take 10 business days to finish my order?

As a small, local shop with both walk-in customers and online orders, we schedule each project carefully. Taking this time ensures that every frame is crafted to the highest standards of quality.

Can I choose different frame and mat options for each print?

Yes. Each print you order can be customized with its own frame and mat choices through our online system.

Do you offer standard sizes or only custom sizes?

We offer a range of standard sizes as well as fully custom sizes. Each order is made to fit your artwork perfectly.

How is my artwork packaged for shipping?

All framed pieces are wrapped in bubble wrap with corner protectors, floated between layers of cardboard, and packed in a sturdy box for safe delivery.

Do you ship framed art with glass or plexiglass?

We only ship with plexiglass for safety. You can choose from Clear Plexiglass, 99% UV Plexiglass, or 99% UV Optium Museum Plexiglass to best protect your artwork during shipping and display.

Can I pick up my order at your shop instead of shipping?

Absolutely. Local pickup is always available during our business hours at our South Glastonbury frame shop.

What if I want a different size or finish than what is listed?

Contact us directly. In many cases we can accommodate custom requests beyond the listed options.

Will my framed art look the same as it does in the online preview?

Yes, the online preview provides an accurate representation. However, colors and textures may vary slightly in person due to screen differences and the natural materials used.

How do I care for and preserve my print and frame?

Keep your artwork out of direct sunlight and areas with high humidity. Clean glazing with a soft cloth only—avoid glass cleaners with ammonia.

Are your art prints signed or numbered editions?

Some prints are signed or part of a limited edition, while others are open editions. Each listing will specify if it is signed or numbered.

Can I return or exchange my framed art order?

Because each order is custom-made, returns and exchanges are not accepted. We only provide replacements in cases of flaws or damage to your order. If you experience an issue, please contact us right away so we can make it right.

Can I order artwork printed but not framed?

Yes. You can purchase any of our pieces as a print only. Prints are made on your choice of fine-art paper and shipped rolled in a protective triangle tube to ensure they arrive safely.
